Downtown Hammond – A revival, years in the making, has truly brought the downtown Hammond area full circle. A ‘hot spot’ for filming, the shops, restaurants, nightlife establishments, and businesses are constantly buzzing with activity. The Downtown Development District and Hammond Chamber of Commerce do an excellent job of organizing monthly block parties as well as numerous events and festivals which lure not only shoppers, but those in the mood to shake their groove thing. Hammond Square - The newly and completely renovated Hammond Square shopping complex consists of 850,000 + sq ft. of shopper’s paradise, situated on 100 + acres.
